Inca Express

Wiracocha Temple Ruin

MAn Inca temple, but I can't figure out any timeline here. Was it built before or after the Spanish had already arrived. The illustration helps understanding what we're seeing here..

A closer view of the illustration.

The little lady was wandering around for photo ops and I gave her about a dollar which made her very happy.

Here is one of the buildings more intact, and we can easily see how it once looked. Very much like the graphic (she saw me taking that picture and posed from the distance).

This whole site was surrounded by a large and long wall. The bottom shows a little more detail.

Lots of tourist buses pulled in and there was a large central plaza packed with arts and crafts.

As I walked away momentarily from the busy touristy square, I happen to see the Cuzco to Puno Peru Rail train go by in the distance. It takes them about 8 hours, same as the Inka Express, but stops only once. Of course, it's a luxurious ride with a great buffet laid out. Train travel at its best. However, it costs almost $200 more. To me, that was not worth it. Also, I wanted to see all of the places where the bus would stop. We made six stops including a great lunch buffet stop. I was quite happy with this experience.
